MARIA DAVIS

I am a mother, a wife, a traveller and an adventurer. I am also an avid outdoor enthusiast. Naturally, I pursued an education in both tourism and photography. These dual passions have provided me with many adventures and creative opportunities all over the world. I first moved to Sun Peaks, BC in 1996 seeking powder and winter fun. A few years later I left to travel, only to return to Sun Peaks again and settle down permanently in 2016 with my family. There is nothing better than to find your creative inspiration in your own beautiful backyard.

My images are almost always created while out enjoying the outdoors whether it is while hiking, biking, paddling, skiing or boarding. Then the second burst of creativity comes when I return home to edit the images and digitally manipulate them to create painterly – dreamy interpretations. I specifically like to enhance the colors and insert movement and flow. I enjoy twisting the scenes of nature and adding my own style to the landscape photograph.
